Despite challenges, India has made significant progress in creating job opportunities for PwDs through government initiatives, corporate inclusion programs, and self-employment avenues.

Government Initiatives for PwD Employment

1. Reservation in Government Jobs: 4% of jobs in public sector organizations are reserved for PwDs under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016.
2. Skill Development Programs: The National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) and the Skill Council for Persons with Disabilities (SCPwD) offer vocational training.
3. MUDRA & Start-up Loans: PwDs can avail loans under the MUDRA scheme to start their own businesses.
4. Accessible Workspaces: The Accessible India Campaign promotes workplace accessibility for PwDs.
